Tweakings before the [big] launch...

Hello, dear Math people!

As you may have known, we have announced that the site will be launched soon. As such, some minor configurations on who can see certain forums (especially for guests).

Also, the rules had a bit of a facelift - both on content and style (note the bold text to distinguish between essence and explanation of a rule). Also, it has been updated to cope with the changes made in this board. And according to one of our co-founders, the same had been for the Home Site.

Heard ...

The forum rules has been established. Though, there may be several ways to display them, considering the use of posts and stickies, and where the questions can be posted.

Here are some suggestions, assuming we're following the DO-DON'T system. But if you may have a suggestion better than the other two, feel free to reply. There is still time.

But these may not be practically appropriate "topics" ...

Like every forum, we'd better put some rules up.

Behold: the first draft of the forum rules, classified into DOs and DON'Ts. You can comment, correct, and/or suggest other rules, before we can have this finally set prior to site launch.

as a side note:

as you may have seen on the mmc site, the deployment is delayed for a week after a few problem arouse with the hosting server. the development team *ahem* are currently working on it. please look forward to the site beta launch on Monday, May 19,2008.

for the real issue:

the features that will be on the site are the least that the development team could do given the resources and the time frame we had. its very limited ...

First-ever header image (and a change in the forum title)

At this point, much of the groundwork of the forum site had been done a few days ago. And now, the forum has its first MMC header image, made by Twinkle Denoyo... See the banner below...

Also, to conform with the header image, the forum title has been changed. Instead of "Ask a Math Major!", it's simply "MMC Forums", although we can improve on that a bit. Still, catchy titles are nice...
